TAUNTON School has staged a ceremony to officially open improved facilities for its youngest children.
The school has a new and extended baby nursery, two-year-old activity rooms and a dedicated sensory room and sleep room.
The opening ceremony was conducted by Ruby Cooney and Harry Bond, head girl and head boy of Taunton Prep School.
The activity rooms complement the school’s three-year-old bases and pre-school nursery class, enabling each stage and age of child development to be accommodated and supported by specialist teams in age specific rooms.
Only last month, the school’s Early Years Foundation Stage (0-5 years) received a glowing report from inspectors.
All four key areas received “outstanding” ratings after a visit from the Independent Schools Inspectorate.
Kathy McLauchlan, Taunton School’s head of pre-prep and nursery, said: “High-quality baby care and education is in demand and unfortunately there is very limited choice in the Taunton area.
“Our waiting lists are growing and there is a buzz and excitement in the air.
“Taunton School Nursery and Pre-Prep are happy places to work and play and the children are thriving.”
