A TEAM of 12 charity walkers who completed a gruelling trek through the Vietnamese jungle raised £30,000 for St Margaret’s Hospice.
They negotiated rivers, dense jungle, paddy fields and a mountain in the remote north of the country and joined in a community project building a sheltered area for a home for elderly people and abandoned children.
Trekker Sonia Bateman, who works for St Margaret’s, said: “I’m very proud to have shared the experience and to have completed the challenging trek and for remaining in such good spirits throughout.”
