A FASHION student will go head to head with
designers from across the country for the Young
Designer of the Year title at the 2014 Clothes Show
Live.
Laura White, 21, a former Richard Huish student
from Holcombe Rogus, has been shortlisted as a
finalist in the competition with the winner
announced next Tuesday at the Clothes Show Live.
Laura, who is studying at De Montfort University
in Leicester, received the Richard Huish art and
design textiles prize for her A-level work.
She said: “It’s great to be named in the final ten
for Young Designer of the Year and I’m delighted to
have made the final.
“I’ve worked very hard for it and I’m really
looking forward to the Clothes Show now.
“I’ve always taken a huge interest in fashion and
design, and hope to pursue it as a career.”
The winner will receive £1,000 prize money and
£500 for their school or college’s art/design
technology department, and will have their
winning outfit modelled on the Clothes Show Live
catwalk.
They will also win work experience with So
Fragrance, a Young Designer of the Year trophy
and free tickets to Clothes Show Live 2015.
