A former Taunton student has been left in a critical condition after an horrific 'acid' attack at his home in Cornwall.
Named locally as Andreas Christopheros, the 29-year-old is a former student of King's College in Taunton.
The father of one is the managing director at Chase Events Ltd and ASC Property Management Ltd Truro.
Mr Christopheros suffered 'life-threatening' facial injuries in the attack in his own home in a quiet Truro street by an unknown man at around 4pm on Tuesday, December 9.
A baby and two police officers were treated after inhaling fumes and have since been released from hospital.
Officers were called to the house on Carrine Road following reports that a corrosive substance, believed to be acid, had been thrown in a man’s face.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the attempted murder, and are keen to speak to the driver of a red Peugeot van seen in Carrine Road around the time of the incident.
Detective Inspector Sharon Donald, from Truro CID, said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who saw any unusual people or vehicles in the area yesterday, in particular a red van.
“If you are the driver of the red Peugeot van seen in the area, please get in touch with police so we can eliminate you from our enquiries.”
Officers have been carrying out house-to-house enquiries, handing out leaflets, and patrolling the area to reassure residents.
Anyone with information is asked to call Devon and Cornwall police on 101 quoting press log 103 of 10 December, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
