A CANNABIS producer from Taunton has been ordered to pay an £8,500 confiscation order after being convicted for producing the drug.

Wayne Honeywell, 57-years-old from Slough Green, appeared at Taunton Crown Court on Friday, (January 9) for the confiscation hearing under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

Honeywell was also convicted for the same offence in August 2014 and was ordered to do 120 hours of community service.

The court heard that he had benefited £8,500 from his criminal activity.

He was warned that if he does not repay the full value of money within six months, he will face a further four and a half months in prison.

He would still be required to pay the confiscation order.

Dr Kirstie Congram, manager of Avon and Somerset Police’s Financial Investigation Unit said: “This result demonstrates our commitment to ensuring that crime does not and will not pay.”
