THE British Ocean Rowing Team headed by West Buckland explorer Dom Mee has posted an incredible 108 nautical miles (124 miles) in the last 24 hours in their best run since they started a Trans-Atlantic row twenty-seven days ago.
The team have been battling to beat the Atlantic rowing record, set by La Mondial in 1992.
Strong north easterly winds of between fifteen and twenty knots are ideal for the team and another factor aiding their achievement is that the boat is getting lighter with the team eating 6kg a day in supplies.
