A COMMUNITY event in Creech St Michael has won a national accolade.
The Creech Party in the Park topped the Best Have a Field Day category in the Fields in Trust awards.
The event in the village recreation park in July was recognised by FIT, which protects open spaces across the country to make sure they are safeguarded forever.
The party saw more than 1,000 people enjoying a fun packed programme of drama, dance and sport displays, music, family games, reptile handling, petting zoo, donkey rides, archery and train rides.
The award was presented to organising committee members Mina Guest and Jo Morrison by BBC sports and news broadcaster Ore Oduba at Lord's cricket ground, London, last Wednesday.
The next Creech Party in te Park is on July 9, 2016 - to get involved e-mail info@creechpartyinthepark.com
