THE County Gazette is 180 years old this year - and we’re asking you to help us celebrate by raising £180,000 for St Margaret’s Hospice.
We’re hoping the community will join in and get behind a great charity - let us know your fundraising ideas by e-mailing 180@countygazette.co.uk
Here are a couple of ideas to help you out - one for the energetic and another for those who prefer to take things a little easier.
How about an evening in with friends? Throw a dinner party and guests donate to St Margaret’s what they would have spent on a night out
St Margaret’s will provide a fundraising pack with posters, invitations, a collection box and a few tips.
Raising £20 would pay for an hour of nurse-led telephone support during the night, while £100 is enough for a home visit from a specialist nurse.
To receive your free Evening In pack call 01823-365615 or e-mail paul.fuller@st-margarets-hospice.org.uk
Or how about a 13km walk around Wimbleball Lake, on Exmoor, on March 20.
If you walk in memory of a loved one, ribbons will be available to write remembrance messages on and to carry on the walk before hanging them on a display board.
