A MAN who started out as a market trader in Wellington has been revealed to have built up a huge £385 million fortune.
The worth of Tom Singh and his family is pretty eye-watering - but it's nothing compared to Sir James Dyson and family, who have banked £7.8 billion.
Mr Singh stands 11th in the Sunday Times richlist in the South West after his family fortune was boosted by £15 million compared to last year.
Former Wellington School student Mr Singh set up New Look fashion store in 1969 after learning his trade in the town of Wellington.
The top five on the South West Sunday Times richlist are named today as Sir James Dyson and family, £7.8 billion; Peter Hargreaves, £2.315 billion; Chris and Sarah Dawson, £1.9 billion; Steve Lansdown, £1.48 billion; and Christina Ong and family, £1.296 billion.
