Taunton Deane Labour Party has announced its candidate for the upcoming snap General Election.
Martin Jevon, who previously stood in Taunton Deane back in 2010, has been chosen to represent Labour once again.
He said: “I am pleased and proud to have been selected to be Labour’s candidate for Taunton Deane in this General Election.
“Taunton is a challenging constituency for Labour, but we will be fighting hard across the whole Deane, showing people that this harsh Tory government needs to go.
"I live in North Taunton, work for a local care organisation, and as a local resident I know the realities of life for the hard working people of Taunton Deane.”
Mr Jevon grew up in Taunton and studied at Ladymead Community School and Somerset College before attending the University of Luton.
Previously chairman of the North Taunton Partnership, and service director for a National Health Charity, he currently works for a local care organisation.
His campaign will reach out across the whole of Taunton Deane and he says he will be listening to the issues that are important to everyone in all our local communities.
