EVER wondered what's living on your bed, in your hair, or even on your skin?
You probably never wanted to before but now you can take an in-depth look at these little blighters making themselves at home in your follicles, thanks to Taunton scientific photographers David and Madeleine Spears.
Unseen Companions: Big Views of Tiny Creatures takes a look at some creatures you would never normally see up close, from bacteria, to tape worm, house flies to grubs.
And the result is truly fascinating.
With enhanced colour photos the book makes for a great read.
David and Madeleine both graduated in Zoology in London and David has worked on some of the natural history classics and pioneering techniques in medical imaging.
He now runs Clouds Hill Imaging, producing time lapse, electron and microscopy film sequences, and still images for broadcasters and publishers.
After twenty years of lecturing Madeleine joined Science Pictures to run the production of science and education television programmes. She produced programmes for Channel Four, the BBC, Encyclopaedia Britannica and a number of publishers.
Mr Spears told the County Gazette: "It's almost a life's work and the library suggested to me that I compile it all in a book.
"We started putting it together a year ago and we have worked frantically to get 200 pictures together."
Brendon Books is hosting a book signing for Unseen Companions: Big Views of Tiny Creatures on August 23 at 6.30pm.
