AN unidentified Good Samaritan may have saved a teenager from being robbed.
The man pulled up when he saw the 18-year-old being attacked by a stranger in the early hours.
Police say the victim was approached from behind by an unknown man as he walked along Kingston Road, Taunton, at about 2.30am last Friday.
The man grabbed his victim and asked for his wallet.
At this point, a man driving by in a dark saloon car stopped, wound down his window and asked what was going on.
The offender ran off empty-handed, leaving his victim shaken, but unhurt.
The motorist then drove off without leaving his details.
An Avon and Somerset Constabulary spokesman said: "Police would like to speak to the man in the car as he may have important information to help enquiries.
"Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident."
Anyone with any information should contact Crimestoppers on 0800-555111.
