A CREAM tea garden party in Watchet has raised £1,700 for the Children's Hospice (SW).
A giant cheque for the amount was presented to the charity this week after the event was held by Watchet Friends of The Children's Hospice at Wyndham House, Sea View Terrace, in the town, in June.
Valerie Norman, of the Friends, said: "This would not have been possible without the efforts of a strong group of local people who manned the stalls and activities in the garden of Wyndham House."
Raffle tickets will be on sale at Dunster Show tomorrow, Friday, for two wooden sculptures, made by Mike Leach of Allerford and Matthew Crabb of Dunster, who donated them to help raise further funds for the Hospice.
