STAFF at Taunton's Musgrove Park Hospital have been taking time out to consider how to further reduce healthcare acquired infections such as MRSA.
The Hour to Save a Life' campaign is a presentation designed to encourage workers to think about what they can do differently to reduce the risk of patients getting infections.
Martine Price, Director of Nursing and Patient Care at Musgrove, said: "We are making good progress at Musgrove.
"CDiff has more than halved in the last 12 months, and MRSA is on the way down.
"We have new stricter policies on screening patients, we have increased the number of single rooms to enable us to isolate more patients and put significant new resources into the Infection Control Team.
"This campaign is about reminding staff that they can make a difference."
Over 850 members of staff - almost a third of the workforce - have seen the presentation in its first week.
Acting Chief Executive Dr Peter Cavanagh said: "Our staff have done fantastically well to make the progress that they have - but we are determined to eradicate healthcare acquired infections from Musgrove."
