A GROUP of travellers remain in a field beside a housing estate.
Several caravans are still pitched on the plot next to St Quintin Park, Bathpool, on the outskirts of Taunton.
They arrived over the Bank Holiday weekend, much to the annoyance of neighbours.
It is understand the land belongs to Persimmon Homes, which is taking steps to evict them.
A resident, who asked not to be named, said police had been contacted but were unable to act without a compaint from the landowner.
He said: "They're still there today - it's happened before in 2015 and is frustrating.
"I've spoken to someone from Persimmon Homes, who said an eviction notice is being served.
"But the access to the field needs security to block access.
"Fortunately it hasn't been noisy. They did have a bright floodlight shining on Sunday night, but it wasn't on yesterday.
"But people are afraid of walking their dogs there at the moment. I certainly wouldn't go there.
"And it's the mess they leave once they do leave. Who pays to clear it up?"
