AS part of our celebrations marking Somerset Day, we teamed up with the Somerset branch of the Campaign to Protect Rural England to launch a special competition.
This year, CPRE Somerset is marking its 50th anniversary and has teamed up with your favourite local newspaper to launch a photographic competition - and you can take part.
Amateur photographers are being encouraged to enter up to three photographs on the theme of Somerset’s Changing Landscape before July 31.
Editor, Paul Jones, said: “This is a very exciting competition - we are delighted to have teamed up with the CPRE to help showcase our wonderful county.
“With such an interesting theme, I have no doubt the quality of the entries will be extremely high. Good luck to everyone who takes part - get snapping.”

Paul will be part of a trio of judges - alongside CPRE Somerset chairman Prof Chris Lewis and CPRE member and professional photographer Kit Houghton - who will pick an overall winner, with a prize of £100 up for grabs.
Meanwhile, you will also be able to have your say and pick a winner, as this newspaper will be offering a Readers Winner prize of £50, which will be selected by public vote from a final shortlist.
The shortlist, featuring the top 50 photographs, will go on display in the county later this year - as well as on our website - for you to make your selection.

Prof Lewis said: “The last 50 years have seen enormous changes in the way we all live, but we still cherish our unique and varied Somerset landscapes.
“We can’t wait to see how readers will explore ‘Somerset’s Changing Landscapes’ and their photographs.”
Entries should be emailed to admin@cpresomerset.org.uk by midnight on July 31.
