And that’s the positive attitude that is spread around the entire village primary and preschool.
The staff believe that everyone learns so much better when they are enjoying what they are doing.

“I often refer to our school as a community of learning,” said Mr Stead.
“Our aim is to help everyone involved in Milverton School and pre-school feel part of a lively, caring and active learning community.
“All of the adults that work in our school have a strong interest in the happiness and wellbeing of our children and are also keen to ensure that every child has opportunities to develop and reach their potential.”
The headteacher says that the school’s ethos can be summed up in five works: care, pride, perseverance, respect and achievement.
Milverton Primary School was also recently named in the Sunday Times top 200 schools in England.

Mr Stead added: “We utilise our beautiful school grounds as a valuable teaching and learning resource through forest school sessions and outdoor learning. We believe that children’s mental wellbeing is as important as their physical wellbeing. We support this through regular mindfulness sessions in class and the children have recently had a term of yoga lessons.
“The school has an excellent track record and a long history of high expectations and achievements.”

Andy Powell, chairman of governors, who has two children at the school, said: “I know my children are extremely fortunate to have such caring, dedicated and experienced school staff. Together, school staff, parents and children form a very strong and supportive school community.
“I have been part of the governing body for several years. We regularly conduct parent surveys to identify areas to improve.
“The feedback from parents is a ringing endorsement.”
