SEVERAL distraction burglars targeting elderly people in their homes have been reported in village locations in east Taunton, according to police.

PCSO Claire Escott said: "We are currently investigating several reports of dwelling burglaries where the occupants have been elderly and the offenders have posed as being employees of utility companies carrying out routine repairs/surveys and require access to the address."
