FIREFIGHTERS from across Somerset were called to battle a heathland fire in the Quantock Hills.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received multiple reports of a heathland fire near Dead Woman's Ditch at around 10pm last night (May 18).
Crews from Nether Stowey and Williton along with a water carrier from Bridgwater were sent ot the incident.
When firefighters arrived they confirmed an area of approximately 2 acres was on fire.
Crews requested the attendance of two 4x4 vehicles with mobile pumps which they used along with hose reels and beaters in order to extinguish the fire.
