A WATCHET couple who were invited to the Royal Wedding said the experience was 'surreal'.
Donna and Paul Stevens set up Elliot's Touch in 2015 after losing their 13-month-old son to mitochondrial disease, a rare genetic condition, and cardiomyopathy, a condition which affects the heart.
To honour their hard work, the pair were invited to the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on May 19.
The hard-working couple were invited after being nominated by the Lord Lieutenant of Somerset, Anne Maw.
"It was such a surreal experience, I’m still pinching myself," Donna said.
"My highlights were when Harry and Meghan were pronounced man and wife and everybody cheered."
She added that they were star-struck being so close to A-list attendees such as David Beckham, George Clooney and Idris Elba.
Donna attended: "Sarah Ferguson was really lovely came over and asked so how we were.
"We were met off the train and collected and told we had the VIP path to the castle.
"We were sat with some of the royals staff."
"We savoured every moment."
