ACTION is being taken after a group of travellers set up camp on council-owned land.
A group of travellers are currently on land owned by the council near Blackbrook Leisure Centre.
Taunton Deane Borough Council says it will be asking them to leave shortly.
A spokesman for TDBC said: "When dealing with unauthorised encampments on Taunton Deane Borough Council-owned land, the Council has an agreed procedure to follow.
"It also has obligations in respect of health and housing which it must assess and asks to be notified of any special circumstances by way of forms left with the occupants.
"Council officers have visited the group of travellers currently camped near the Blackbrook Leisure Centre and Spa to assess the situation and will revisit to leave the welfare forms with the group.
"The travellers will then be asked to leave the Blackbrook site and, if they fail to comply with the request, formal eviction procedures will be initiated. This includes legal action if necessary."
