A FIRE caused serious damage to a commercial unit in Norton Fitzwarren last night.
The Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service was called to the unit, off Minehead Road, at around 11.30pm.
Two crews from Taunton went to the scene and requested two more crews to help after reaching the building, which was 'well alight'.
Additional crews from Taunton, Wellington, as well as the water carrier from Bridgwater, then made their way to the blaze.
A fire service spokesman said the unit measured around 20m by 10m, with asbestos sheeting and contained cylinders.
The crews brought the fire under control and put it out in around three hours.
"The fire caused 40 per cent fire damage to the building and a 100 per cent smoke and water damage," he said.
"The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental."
