GRANTS of up to £2,000 are up for grabs for small businesses in the Taunton and Wellington area.
The cash is being put up by Taunton Deane Council, in conjunction with Business Link Somerset, to help 15 firms who have been trading for six months to five years.
A seminar is being held on Tuesday, September 11, when applicants will receive professional advice and guidance to produce a business plan.
Awards will go to companies who have the greatest potential to develop and grow, while an additional 30 Acorn grants worth £500 each will be made.
Cllr Jefferson Horsley, Executive Councillor for Economic Development, Property & Tourism, said: "This is a competitive scheme and places on the seminar are limited, booked on a first come first served basis.
"We are very pleased to be able to offer this kind of support to nurture new businesses - help that has already proved integral in boosting the economic development of Taunton Deane and those starting out in business."
Anyone wishing to take part or find out more can visit the council's website or call Matt Parr on 01823-356489.
