AFTER weeks of anticipation pupils at King's College, Taunton celebrated their A level grades when their results were finally announced.
An impressive 11 pupils achieved three or more A grades, including Sarah Hill, David Snell, Caroline Tecks and Chris Man.
All of whom live in the Taunton area.
Chris Man achieved a particularly notable four A's in Biology, Maths, Physics and Chemistry.
The Design Technology Department was once again hugely successful for the college, with 96% of candidates achieving A or B grades.
This department was recently given an award by The Good Schools Guide's for the best results at A level and a prestigious Arkwright Award (for Simon Baker) for the second year running.
The Modern Languages Department was also particularly strong, with 85% of candidates gaining A's or B's for German and 83% for French.
The Music Department rounded off an outstanding year of musical achievement at King's with all candidates achieving A grades. Earlier this year the school won the 2007 BBC Songs of Praise School Choir Competition.
New Headmaster, Richard Biggs, said: "These results represent many hours of hard work on behalf of our pupils and staff and I congratulate them all.
"What is particularly pleasing is that the same pupils who achieved three or four A's were also deeply involved in sport, music, art and drama.
"It is that breadth which makes the King's experience so special." Mr Biggs added.
"I am very excited by the prospect of leading this wonderful school and intend to build further on the high standards established by my predecessor."
King's College will be holding an Open Day on Saturday, October 6. Contact the registrar Barbara Lancey on 01823-328204 for further details.
