THEY'RE cute and cuddly - but the hottest new local band is a bit woolly when it comes to names.
The 15-piece combo may be top of the Knit Parade, but they're looking for a venue - and a recording contract would have them in stitches.
The group, including a cool cat on sax, a piano-playing elephant and a wasp trio adding a bit of a buzz, was created by Lilian Burrows, of Norton Fitzwarren.
She has donated them to Taunton Deane Mayor Ken Hayward to help raise funds for his chosen charities, the NSPCC and SURE, the County Gazette-backed appeal to equip the new cancer unit at Taunton's Musgrove Park Hospital.
The band's first gig is at Taunton Deane Services on Saturday - fans will be able to suggest a name for them for a £1 donation, with a £50 prize for the chart-topping suggestion.
Mr Hayward is looking for a venue for the band - a shopfront where they can be displayed and tickets sold - and even a local blues or jazz band to help them record a fundraising CD.
