THE third annual charity walk in aid of St Margaret's Somerset Hospice raised more than £25,000 for the Bishop's Hull-based organization.
More than 350 walkers covered footpaths and bridleways across the county, with 25 of them tramping 34 miles between Bishop's Hull and Yeovil, where St Margaret's has a second hospice.
Events manager Carol Taylor said: "We're very grateful to all the walkers who took part despite the awful weather conditions.
"This fantastic success reflects the tremendous hard work done by the organisers and the team of volunteers who marshaled the route.
"We hope that many more people will take part next year, helping us to fund the wonderful care and support which St Margaret's offers to all local people."
