YEAR 11 students at Kingsmead are celebrating outstanding results at GCSE this year.
67% of the 155 students achieved 5 or more A* - C grade passes with 94% achieving 5 or more A* - G and 99% obtaining at least 1 A* - G. Significantly, in the new' standard of five or more A* - C grade passes including English and Maths, the students achieved beyond expectations with 59%, which is better than last year when the school had its best ever results.
Headteacher, Geoff Tinker, said, "These results are testimony to the hard work and talent of these exceptional young people and confirm that Kingsmead continues to go from strength to strength.
"The passion and commitment of the staff and Governors and the positive support from parents are all vital components in achieving success and I wish to thank everyone for their hard work."
There were some truly amazing results from a large number of students but top was Rachel Heard with 9.5 A* and 1 A and Nick Skeavington with 9A* and 2 A's.
