SOME 50 members of Taunton Deane Male Voice Choir will be returning after a brief summer break to Temple Street Methodist Schoolroom for the first rehearsal of a new season on September 5.
Tenors, baritones and basses will be re-introduced to a variety of songs during every successive Wednesday evening at 7.30pm by their musical director David Yates as they prepare for another season of music making.
Some stalwart members will be returning for their twentieth season, while others will be joining for the first time.
Audience support at concerts is essential to the choir as these concerts are its main means of raising much-needed funds for local organizations and worthy causes. The choir assists in raising substantial amounts of money every year to deserving groups within the local and neighbouring communities.
New members are encouraged to join the social fellowship of the choir and on Wednesday, September 19 an open rehearsal evening will be held when males of all ages will be made welcome.
Musical ability is not required, but a love of music and a joy of singing with others are paramount.
The social aspect of the choir includes regular events for members and their families.
