THE Taunton and District Friendship Centre have had an interesting month beginning with an evening walk around Taunton's Heritage Centre with A very knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide, Gill Cooper ,giving members an insight into the people, Lanes and Buildings in the town centre followed by a meal at "Jenny" @ Tristans Bistro. A week later an energetic group visited Canonteign Falls which included 90 steps to the highest waterfall in England.
A new lunch venue ,The Kelway Inn Langport was a great success and will become a regular venue. The Fingle Golf Club near Exeter also entertained group on their way to the DIngle Steam Heritage Museum, where members enjoyed the "old fair ground" rides and the various steam engines.
The speaker at the Thursday social meeting at Ruishton Village Hall was a very interesting young lady from the meteorological office describing all aspects in the areas of their services. The other regular monthly dates of skittles or tenpin bowling and lunch were supported and enjoyed by the usual teams.The final outing of the month was a lovely leisurely cruise from Maunsel Lock on a nice sunny afternoon.
