VISITORS to the picturesque village of Exford will be able to hone their photographic skills when the Tour of Britain, hosted by Somerset County Council, visits the South West for the first time on Tuesday September 11.
An informal workshop will be run by local photographer, Peter Hendrie of The Exmoor White Horse Inn, who specialises in creative landscape photography.
Top tips on how to capture the moment on film will be on offer, along with help and advice on taking the best speed shots. Participants will also have the opportunity to download and discuss their pictures after the race has passed.
The peaceful village will be transformed into a hub of activity on the day; with many local people showcasing their products and their talents to keep spectators entertained long after the race has passed. Included in the line up will be Quad Racings 2006 British Champion, Stephen Atkins.
Exford offers some fantastic viewing spots to get up close to the riders on 11 September. For further details about the photographic workshop and to register your interest, email Pete at peter@exmoor-whitehorse.co.uk.
Cllr Justin Robinson, Deputy Leader of Somerset County Council, said: "I am delighted that local communities are embracing this opportunity to make the most of the day when the Tour of Britain visits the county. Wherever you watch the race, from Yeovilton to Exmoor, there is sure to be something of interest on offer for everyone."
