A 27-year-old man has been arrested following a reported serious assault on a security guard at Tesco in Taunton.
The incident happened at about 9.30pm yesterday (Friday, September 7).
The victim was taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries, which are not thought to be life-threatening.
A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said: "A 27-year-old man has been arrested and remains in police custody.
"We’d also like to thank store staff and members of the public who helped assist in detaining the suspect."
