A QUESTION from Taunton Deane MP Rebecca Pow produced a mixed reaction of laughter and praise in the House of Commons.
During Prime Minister's Question Time yesterday (Wednesday), Ms Pow outlined the harm caused to the environment every time people use their washing machines.
When she asked Theresa May if she agreed it was "a great time to address the issue and carry on this Government’s great record on the environment?", the Speaker, John Bercow, elicited guffaws from MPs when he replied: "I think that by now the wash would have been completed."
Mrs May responded by praising Ms Pow's efforts as "a champion of our environment".
