TAUNTON Deane MP Rebecca Pow has met with members of the Extinction Rebellion environmental protest group.
Extinction Rebellion has made international headlines in recent weeks after staging major protests across the country - centred on London - in a bid to highlight the need for more action to tackle climate change.
Four people from Somerset are among those who have been charged by police in connection with the protests.
And Ms Pow, who has campaigned on environment issues including microbeads and the importance of protecting soil quality, met with representatives of the group this week.
"I had a full and frank discussion with an Extinction Rebellion group," she tweeted.
She said she had 'made it clear I too am fighting for a sustainable planet'.
