THE INQUEST of a woman who tragically died on a level crossing near Taunton has been opened.
On January 8, the senior coroner for Somerset opened the inquest for Dalila Briginshaw, who sadly died on December 23.
Emergency services were called to the Bradford on Tone level crossing in East Nynehead Road at around 9pm.
Ms Briginshaw, who was 65-years-old, lived in Nynehead.
The coroner said: "I have limited information available to me at the present time but I understand that a vehicle registered to Dalila Briginshaw was struck by an express train shortly after 9pm on Monday 23 December.
"I understand that Dalila Briginshaw’s vehicle was stationary on the crossing when it was struck by the express train and that Dalila Briginshaw sustained fatal traumatic injuries."
The inquest has been adjourned for an internal case management review on or before April 8.
