A NEW headteacher of Wellington Prep School has been announced.
The chairman of Wellington School Governors, Anna Govey, has appointed Victoria Richardson as the new school leader.
Mrs Richardson, who is currently Head of the Lower School, Years 7 and 8, at Wellington School will take up her new post from September 1 2020.
Anna Govey, chair of Governors, said: “We were particularly impressed with Mrs Richardson’s energy, enthusiasm and her absolute commitment to taking the development of the prep school forward to the next level.
"Mrs Richardson has the experience and passion to continue building upon the success of the prep school and its pupils."
After obtaining a degree in Statistics from the University of St Andrews and a PGCE from Homerton College, Cambridge, Mrs Richardson started her teaching career in the mathematics department at Wellington in 1998.

She is also involved in the gold Duke of Edinburgh programme, as well as the combined cadet force.
In her capacity as head of lower school, she has already proved her ability to work closely with others, as well as demostrating her skills as a leader.
The new headteacher said: “I am excited and honoured to be the next head of Wellington Prep School.
"‘Learning for life’ happens in and out of the classroom and I am fully committed to engendering that love of learning from nursery through to the transition to the senior school at the end of Year 6.”
The outgoing headteacher, Adam Gibson, who held the position for ten years, is set to take on a new role as head of prep at Cranleigh Abu Dhabi.
