AN NHS spokeswoman has confirmed that a number of patients with Coronavirus are being treated at Musgrove Park Hospital.
She declined to confirm how many patients had caught the COVID-19 virus.
It is believed that at least three people admitted to Musgrove have tested positive for Coronavirus.
But she added that the Taunton hospital was also caring for people "with symptoms".
The spokeswoman said: "As is clear from the national daily reports, the situation is rapidly changing and we will not be commenting on speculation or rumour.
"The NHS has been planning extensively over recent weeks and our hospitals in Somerset, as well as hospitals across the country, are expected to be receiving and caring for patients with symptoms that could be Coronavirus and some with Coronavirus (COVID-19).
"I can confirm that at Musgrove Park Hospital we are caring for people with symptoms that may be Coronavirus and some with confirmed COVID-19."
