THE deaths of 684 more people have been confirmed as the latest coronavirus data is announced - while Somerset's total stands at 12.
Of those deaths, 604 were in England, as confirmed by NHS England in its April 3 update.
Patients were aged between 24 and 100. 34 out of 604 had no underlying conditions.
A total of 12 people have died in hospitals following positive coronavirus tests across the county so far.
The Department of Health said that, as of 9am on Friday, a total of 173,784 people have been tested of which 38,168 tested positive across the UK. Unfortunately, 3,605 have died.
Today's figures do not show any confirmed Covid-19 deaths on April 2.
Yesterday it was confirmed 68 people in Somerset had tested positive for the virus, with more updated figures expected later today.
