A PUB has decided to ban under 21s on Friday and Saturday nights in a bid to curb antisocial behaviour.

The Vintage Inn, Wellington, has posted on its Facebook page that it intends to limit its customers to over 21s only from 9.30pm on Friday and Saturday nights.

The owners say the decision was hard to make, as a lot of their younger clientele are 'lovely' - but antisocial behaviour from others was ruining the experience.

The post said: "This choice has been hard to make as a lot of our younger clientele are lovely.

"As you know a couple of weeks ago we made changes to our hours and exit procedures to protect our local residents from the anti social behaviour from some younger customers and also there lack of respect for our Covid procedures.

"These changes have helped and worked but at a consequence for our business due to the early closing time.

"From Friday we will return to a 12 midnight closure on these nights but no exit from the rear gate after 9pm will still be in place.

"We hope you understand we have been here for 20 years and during these difficult times we need to keep our staff, customers and local residents safe."
