TAUNTON Fire Station has issued pictures of its crews helping battle a massive blaze yesterday (Wednesday).
Green Watch and on call firefighters from the county town attended the incident in Bridgwater, crewing two fire appliances, one aerial appliance and the environmental protection unit.
Firefighters from Wellington also attended the fire at Marsh Industries Ltd, in Axe Road, which started at around 2pm.
Dozens of firefighters from a number of stations from Somerset and Devon were also on the scene.
Avon and Somerset Police put a safety cordon in place and urged people living nearby to keep their doors and windows shut due to the thick smoke.
The single-storey building, which is used for fibreglass production, was badly damaged in the blaze.
A spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue said: "The fire was extinguished in the late afternoon but we still had crews at the scene damping down hot spots.
"Half of the building was damaged by fire and all of the building was affected by smoke. The cause of the fire was accidental."
