THERE have been SEVEN new confirmed Covid-19 cases in one district in Somerset.
The sharp rise in positive tests was in the Somerset West and Taunton area.
There were also three more cases recorded in Mendip in the 24 hours to 5pm yesterday (Thursday) and one in Sedgemoor.
South Somerset had no new cases reported.
The total of confirmed cases in the county council area has risen to 1,453, an increase of 38 on the past four days.
The district totals now stand at Mendip 177; Sedgemoor 423; Somerset West & Taunton 482; and South Somerset 371.
