THERE have been eight positive Covid-19 tests in Somerset in the latest daily figures.
Four of those were in South Somerset, with two in Mendip and two in Somerset West & Taunton (SWT).
There were no new confirmed cases in Sedgemoor in the figures relating to the 24 hours to 5pm yesterday (Monday).
Government figures show that the rate of infection in Sedgemoor is the highest in the county council area, with 370.2 cases per 100,000 of population.
SWT is second with a rate of 327.5, followed by South Somerset on 240 and Mendip on 187.7.
The overall total of confirmed cases in Somerset has risen to 1,585.
That is made up of 215 cases in Mendip; 456 in Sedgemoor; 508 in SWT; and 404 in South Somerset.
