THE rate of coronavirus infection has risen in each of the four Somerset districts in the past 24 hours.
There were confirmed positive Covid-19 tests in all of the districts in the period to 5pm yesterday (Tuesday).
Somerset West & Taunton (SWT) had three new cases, with two in Sedgemoor and one each in Mendip and South Somerset.
The total number of confirmed cases in the districts stands at 218 in Mendip; 458 in Sedgemoor; 511 in SWT; and 405 in South Somerset.
The total in the county council area is now 1,592.
Government figures show the rates of infection as 371.8 cases per 100,000 in Sedgemoor, up from 371.8; 329.4 in SWT (up from 327.5); 240.6 in South Somerset (240); and 188.6 in Mendip (187.7).
The county council patch has a rate of 283.2 cases per 100,000 of population.
