THERE have been 27 positive Covid-19 tests in Somerset in a single day.
The jump in new confirmed coronavirus cases in the county council area was recorded in the 24 hours to 5pm on Friday.
Of the new cases, eleven were in Somerset West and Taunton; eleven were also reported in Mendip; there were four in Sedgemoor; and one in South Somerset.
That takes to 1,647 the total number of cases in the county.
That is made up of 538 in Somerset West and Taunton; 465 in Sedgemoor; 410 in South Somerset; and 234 in Mendip.
