A TAUNTON teenager is set to rock Taunton town centre on the anniversary of the 'Prince of Darkness' visiting Somerset.
Today (October 10) marks 40 years since Ozzy Osbourne's Blizzard of Ozz tour rolled into town.
The rock behemoth played in what is now the Mecca Bingo building.
The celebrate the anniversary, 14-year-old Charlie Hedger will take to the steps outside the venue this afternoon to perform a selection of hits in tirbute to Ozzy and his guitarist at the time, Randy Rhoads.
From 1.30pm, he will be out raising money with this performance for Parkinson's UK as Ozzy was diagnosed this year.
The guitarist Randy Rhoads died two years after the Taunton concert in a plane crash. The inscription on Randy’s tomb is “an inspiration for all young people”.
Charlie, 14, has been entertaining shoppers by busking with his electric guitar in Taunton and other towns since the end of lockdown.
He mainly plays 70s and 80s rock, has also played at CICCIC, and had the lead guitar role in The Castle School performance of School of Rock in January.
He would've been playing at Taunton Somerfest this year had it not been cancelled.
Charlie's set from the Mecca Bingo steps will last from 1.30pm to 2pm, but he will continue to raise money by busking in town that day.
Donations for Parkinson's UK can also be made through the 'Charlie Ozzy Taunton' JustGiving page.
