AN arts organisation in Taunton has won an award.

Creative Innovation Centre CIC has won 'Best Creative Sector Support 2020 - South West England' at the SME Southern Enterprise programme awards.

CICCIC co-founding director, Andrew Knutt said: “Developing creative practice, communities and advising and helping others is key to our DNA.

"Being recognised for the hard work we have done throughout Taunton and the region is an honour to receive and we all look forward in seeing more developments in 2021."

The awards were present virtually to the organisation last week.

CICCIC also won the 'Cultural Diversity' award in 2018.

“As well as supporting all forms of creative practice within arts and culture, CICCIC also does lots of work behind the scenes including working with local councils, LEP and other organisations," said CICCIC’s co-founding director, Richard Holt.

"This is to develop and support the creative industries, as well as design and other sectors through its connections with the Creative Industries Centre in Taunton, Somerset Arts Business Cultural Alliance, Creative Industries Federation and many others."

The SME awards are given solely on merit and are awarded to commend those most deserving for their ingenuity and hard work, distinguishing them from their competitors and proving them worthy of recognition.

Award Coordinator Holly Morris added: "As always, it has been a pleasure and a privilege to contact those that have been awarded in the SME Southern Enterprise programme.

"I hope you all have a fantastic new year!”

The next exhibition at CICCIC will be held on January 7 2021.
