A SOMERSET man accused of murdering a grandfather has tested positive for Covid-19.
Matthew Sheridan, 29, of South Petherton, was due in court today (Thursday).
But the preliminary hearing at Exeter Crown Court was postponed after it emerged he had contracted the coronavirus and is confined to his cell in Bristol Prison.
Sheridan is charged with killing Louis Bednall, 40, of Teignbridge.
Mr Bednall died in hospital after he was found with stab wounds at a property in Hendford Hill, Yeovil, on Saturday (December 12).
The hearing has been adjourned until February 24.
