A WEATHER warning has been issued for Somerset - for snow and ice.
Rain battered the county early on Monday morning (December 28), with the Met Office warning that rain could turn to snow as the day progresses.
The weather warning, which stretches as far as Taunton in the south, said: "Rain may turn to snow, which along with widespread ice, will lead to the potential for some disruption to travel and utilities."
The Met Office also says some roads and railways are 'likely to be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services', along with 'icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths'.
The warning remains in place until 6pm this evening.
Already today, parts of nearby Gloucestershire have been affected by snow, as well as other parts of the country including Derbyshire, Worcestershire and elsewhere.
