A SERIOUS fire destroyed a barn near Taunton last night (February 19).
Three fire crews were called to the incident between Monkton Heathfield and Creech St Michael at 9.53pm.
An agricultural building, including the 300 tonnes of hay and farm equipment inside, was 100 per cent destroyed by the blaze.
At 11.45pm, there were six fire engines on the scene, as well as a water carrier from Bridgwater, an incident support unit from Yeovil and a 4x4 vehicle.
And Avon and Somerset Police had closed sections of road nearby.
At 7am this morning (February 20), the incident was under control, and less fire engines were on scene.
