SCHOOLS and colleges are gearing up to welcome back students from tomorrow (Monday) following the lockdown closure.
Richard Huish College, in Taunton, has sent out guidance for its students.
Lessons and tutorials will be held face-to-face as students return physically to fulltime study for the first time in months.
Students will be expected to leave the college campus when they do not have a lesson.
Students and staff will need to wear face-coverings in indoor communal areas, including classrooms, until further notice.
Where there is a genuine medical reason for exemption, students will be asked to wear a purple lanyard.
Teachers and tutors will provide students with more frequent breaks during sessions to support their comfort.
Social distancing should be observed wherever possible, and one-way systems followed as they were last term.
Students are required to have their first lateral flow tests before they attend lessons.
A Huish spokesperson said: "We know that may you will be really looking forward to returning to face-to-face classes and we can’t wait to have you back on site.
"However, some of you may understandably be feeling a little unsettled after a long period at home or worried about returning to face-to-face study.
"Your teachers and tutors are really aware of this and will be doing all they can in the first few weeks to help you settle back in and feel confident on site.
"Please do remember that your progress tutor is really happy to help and chat things through with you, or you can access support in H1 from our Student Services Team."
