A TAUNTON-based health insurer has seen a 12 fold surge in people using its health app over the last 12 months.
Not-for-profit company WPA believes the huge rise underlines the importance of providing secure and convenient access to help customers make claims and administer their policies.
The 268,652 logins to the app to the end of last month were able to secure a claims authorisation within two minutes.
WPA Health's current features include:
- accessing remote GPs – popular during lockdown;
- authorising health insurance claims - an industry first, currently unique to WPA;
- submitting claims for cash benefits;
- tracking claims and benefits remaining – all in one place;
- sending and receiving messages securely;
- viewing membership literature.
And Livechat and automated uploading of cash plan receipts are in the development stage.
Brian Goodman, WPA’s executive director – corporate, said: "The evolution of the WPA Health App has been driven by the need to give customers choice, convenience and control without compromising service.
"WPA’s customers now have the option to interact with WPA however they want, at any time of day or night."
He added: "The growth in users of the WPA Health App is reflective of our obsession to super-serve customers.
"Don’t just take our word for it. As the only five star health insurer, WPA lead the industry with a Trustpilot rating of 4.8 out of 5.
"We receive record numbers of compliments each month and are the only health insurer to have paid rebates during Covid."
